I am passionate about breaking apart long-standing familial dysfunction, and, relatedly, internalized dysfunction. Collecting up the authentic truth of your experience with you. Piece by piece. Session by session. Developing insight. Healing. Revising. Strengthening. Your soul was not meant to live in a prison of oppressive ideology and negative self-talk: it was birthed to shine and to soar.
You know life doesn’t feel good. Intuitively. But we make sense as to why. Knowledge is power. Empowered you can embody a life-affirming way of being.
It’s usually the way we have been taught, or conditioned, to relate to life. It’s also the experiences of life that have altered, corrupted, or constrained what was once bright potential and radiant optimism. You can recover that. It’s essential that you do.
I’m here to deliver a message. That psychological and behavioral change is possible. That it was never your fault but it is your responsibility to embark upon this journey. Which requires focus, discipline, sacrifice, and tolerance for discomfort, as you wade into new possibilities. Which requires you show up. That asks you to experiment, fumble, and struggle toward a better life.
I endorse this on a personal and a professional level. We underestimate our capacity to grow and evolve and adapt and transform our personalities.
2020 has radically altered our daily lives and significantly damaged our sense of safety and stability, our reliance on peace and prosperity. Such disruptive times are a double-edged sword. They destabilize an order, which opens possibilities for deconstruction yet also reconfiguration.
Let 2020 be represented as fire. A fire that consumed, a fire that burns away the old order of things. Let this fire be transformational fire in which the proverbial (mythological) phoenix is ripe and ready to be reborn from ashes.
Burn away toxic shame, condemnation, and conditional love that turns on you on a dime. Let us do something different. Let us facilitate understanding, acceptance, advocacy, and inclusion, as well as the cultivation of a certain kind of energy or vibration, an unflagging continuity of supportive love that cannot be taken from you in the ups and downs of life.
That is to say we shall cultivate a healthy relationship in your primary relationship, that is, the relationship you have with yourself. This is the platform for everything you do, everyone you relate to, everything you’re involved with, everything you will become.
If we all do this we shall create an enlightened society, one built of love, support, validation, and affirmation. That transcends the realm of egoic games like creating a false division between winners and losers, tear down your enemy, spew hate, and breed fear. Of facades and fronts that self-protect a fragile sense of self.
Someday we won’t need to resort to these defensive ploys. We will believe in ourselves and others in a healthy way such that we can be constructive together rather than divided.
We’re better than this. It’s almost 2021. Let’s be ready to spiritually and emotionally evolve.
Today let us hope that we move forward on these critical matters.
