Contemplative Cycling

In addition to my work as a psychotherapist, I am a practitioner and advocate of contemplative cycling, a term I coined to welcome a contrast to competitive cycling.

Touring by bike has become a primary means of travel and a vehicle for ongoing exploration of personal experience, the American West, and beyond ...

Contemplative Cycling

I like to inspire others. As a psychotherapist, I have a broader aim and more complex task. But I do find that the vital energy and the wakeful perception that contemplative cycling cultivates, when appropriately and skillfully used, can be a useful, unique, and enhancing aspect to my approach to the work. Clients often report a renewed zest for life, a reconnection with suppressed desire and motivation, and a progressive capacity for honesty, courage, and clarity within the medium of our therapeutic relationship.

The practice of contemplative cycling and this way of life integrates with the practice of psychotherapy, my perspective, and the total person I become.
